Heritage listed C1860 former Gasworks factory, which once provided gas power for the historic town of Strathalbyn, up until 1917. Three beautiful fully self contained cottages. Our first period cottage, Managers Cottage as the name suggests was the former on site accommodation for the Manager and his family, this cottage consists of an open plan queen bedded room adjacent to the lounge, a separate 2nd bedroom with brass four poster queen bed which has own access to the bathroom, which contains a 2 person spa bath and a large walk in shower, please note this bathroom has a two way entry. The kitchen has four burner gas cooktop, microwave oven, Air fryer, bar fridge and dining table and chairs seating up to 5 persons, in addition there is also a sunroom overlooking own private courtyard and a downstairs laundry for guest use. Our second cottage was once the stables and has been extended and refurbished to become our cosy and romantic Stable Cottage, this cottage offers a tiled floored lounge/kitchette with four burner gas cooktop, microwave and bar fridge, in the extension you will find the fully carpeted pretty queen bedroom with its tiled ensuite spa bathroom, please note shower is over spa bath. Our third self contained accommodation is our aptly named Garden Suite, which is located in a wing in the main building, completely separate and private, ideal for longer stays. This suite is decorated in a more modern style, with two fully carpeted bedrooms each with queen bed and with their own wardrobes, a comfy lounge/kitchen area with beautiful garden views from the large windows, a fully equipped kitchen containing a 4 burner gas cooktop, microwave/grill oven and full sized fridge, large covered terrace with seating. Lastly there is a dual purpose shower room/laundry, with a large walk in shower cubicle with grab rails, and front loader washing machine. All our cottages have free access to NBN wifi. We live permanently on site (with Jake the dog, plus 4 chickens, all friendly) are on hand to assist you when needed but we also guarantee your complete privacy and enjoyment of your stay. The property is set in over one and a half acres of manicured award winning gardens nestled on the banks of the River Angas.
