Fishing, bird-watching, exploring WW2 relics, beach-combing or just old fashioned relaxing are some of the activities available to you at Wagait Beach. Watch the sun set from the back verandah overlooking the sparkling in-ground pool and bushland or cool off in the pool with a coldie before lighting the BBQ to cook your catch of the day. The local shop is nearby for those who prefer some-one else to do the cooking. Take a drive and explore. See majestic magnetic termite mounds and wetlands prolific with birdlife. Keep an eye out for a wild brumby or two! Visit the last resting place of the 'Milady' a crashed WW2 American Liberator bomber. Check out the remains of the WW2 submarine cable that stretched across Darwin Harbour from West Point, near the Mandorah Wharf, to East Point, on the other side of the harbour. Also, look for the remnants of the many WW2 gun turrets scattered along the coast. Coxy's Retreat has all you need for a weekend escape, a base for a fishing trip or a longer term holiday.
