Formerly the “Riesling Trail Cottages” the cottages have just been introduced to the Riesling Studio’s portfolio as “Donnybrook Cottages” by the owners following the end of a three year lease.

Both Donnybrook and Hutt River Cottages have been refurbished with quality Sheridan Linen and towels, new window treatments and quality upgrades.

In less than two hours from leaving Adelaide heading north along Main North Road, driving 136km through some picturesque countryside Donnybrook Cottages are the place to enjoy a getaway for two, or a holiday with family and friends, tourists can experience all the Clare Valley has to offer. Situated directly on the Riesling Trail Donnybrook Cottages are set on the picturesque Hutt River and amongst the rolling hills of the Clare Valley on the perimeter of Clare. Only a three minute drive, 15 minute walk or 5 minute cycle ride into the Clare Township – with the added bonus of the Riesling Trail Bike Hire 100 metres from your front door.

Enjoy exploring the history of the original settlement of Donnybrook. On February 16th 1993 the railway line between Auburn and Clare was devastated by bushfires during the Ash Wednesday disaster. In 1993 the old railway lines were removed and the Riesling Trail was developed as a walking and riding trail. This trail passes through a landscape of rolling hillsides, vineyards, wildflowers in spring and olive trees. From the former Clare rail yards it runs through wine growing regions to Auburn continuing on as the Rattler Trail to Riverton. The trail has been extended north of Clare to Barinia. The Riesling Trail can be enjoyed all year round at a pace to suit the young and the not so young.
